Gana Stool

In 2009, this stool was designed by Martini at the request of a renowned Brazilian magazine. The concept behind this project was to explore and define Martini’s unique design style within a Brazilian design landscape heavily influenced by classic and modernist trends.

Drawing from a natural inclination toward rational, geometric lines, he sought to create a piece that would embody a balance between these clean forms and the organic warmth of Brazilian materials. To achieve this, the stool features a solid frejó wood seat, smoothly carved to contrast with the minimalist, metal legs. The fusion of this solid, traditionally Brazilian material with the structured geometry of the frame introduced a fresh perspective to the local design scene.
The result was a piece that successfully blended modern geometry with a distinct Brazilian identity, creating a new design language that stood out at the time. The stool was considered highly innovative and became a source of inspiration for other designers and brands.
