The work emerges from the appropriation of an existing architectural condition. Positioned within a visible yet inaccessible niche, the suspended staircase does not resolve this contradiction; it makes it evident. It does not add meaning to the site, but reveals what was already there.
Conceived specifically for this location, the staircase absorbs characteristics inherent to the building that hosts it. The work evokes a sense of memory and disorientation, while transforming an overlooked architectural element into an active component of the experience.
In this perspective, the distinction between what contains and what is contained becomes less clear, allowing a continuous dialogue to emerge between the work, the site, and the observer.
